Can you piece together the deadly jigsaw?
A tragic accident.
A suspicious transaction.
A wily adversary.
Detective Tom Morton and Captain Kate Lonsdale are each given one small piece of blue sky in a jigsaw of crime and death. Squadron Leader Conrad Clarke is ordered to stop them in their tracks.
Kate and Tom work together to assemble the jigsaw and expose the lies. Conrad finds himself forced to choose between saving his life and his sanity.
As Kate and Tom get close to the truth, Conrad has to take bigger and bigger risks to keep them at bay, until all of them converge for a showdown in Essex – on Valentine’s Day.
Although complete on its own, A Piece of Blue Sky is the first volume of the Operation Jigsaw trilogy and introduces both Conrad and Tom. It is set before Conrad joins the King’s Watch and before Tom’s solo adventures.
Find out where it all began and treat yourself to some quality time with Operation Jigsaw.
A Piece of Blue Sky Volume I of The Operation Jigsaw Trilogy eBook Mark Hayden
I was given a free copy of “A Piece of Blue Sky” (Volume I of the Operation Jigsaw Trilogy) by author Mark Hayden in exchange for my honest review.Mr. Hayden has created a wonderfully written, complex, and intriguing, page turning crime novel. He uses his native country of England as the back drop as you follow two cousins, City Police Detective Sergeant (DS) Tom Morton of the London Economic Crime Section and Money Laundering Investigative Unit, and Captain Kate Lonsdale, British Royal Air Force (RAF)-Military Intelligence who are searching for answers about the murders that surround a company called PiCASSA-“Pedazo de Cielo Azul Solutions Ltd. (Ashton) or “A Piece of Blue Sky”. As the cousins individually and cooperatively follow various leads you are led into the dark, cover-up world of counterfeiting and money laundering, and the extreme measures that villains like Conrad Clarke will take to protect the investors of the “company”.
I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this first book in the Operation Jigsaw Trilogy. I plan on completing the series by reading Book 2: “Green For Danger” and Book 3: “In the Red Corner”.

A Piece of Blue Sky Volume I of The Operation Jigsaw Trilogy eBook Mark Hayden Reviews
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Didn't feel the characters were fully developed. There were many smaller characters who kept popping up without a lot of information. If you like cop mysteries blended with a touch of military information, you may like it. It seemed difficult to read on the because there was often no separation between characters and scenes. Had to read some twice to see which character was now involved. I thought some of the twists, especially the one with Mina falling for one of the characters minutes after her husband was killed, a bit far fetched.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for writing an honest review. I found the book difficult to follow. The characters were not developed well and the transition from one to location to another was not logical. I enjoy crime stories, but was not aware that military tactics, etc. would be included in the plot. I don't like that type of literature, but if you do, you may like this story with it's English backdrop.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I found it a bit confusing in the beginning, however, before long I couldn't put it down! A wonderful beginning to a perfect trilogy! I can't wait for the other two!

This was an intriguing crime novel about money laundering. The characters were well developed and kept me interested until the end. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If you like a mystery, you will enjoy this one.
I was given a copy of " A Piecs of Blue Sky" In exchange for an honest review. Cousins Tom and Kate are sucked into contraband and illegal activities while working or stationed overseas, not knowing how each is involved at first. (She with dead soldier and he investigating fraud/ money laundering). Activities build up to next book involving the paths each takes to solve murder and events which will affect the lives of both.

A story about money laundering/smuggling that envelopes both Military Intelligence and British Police. I would be interested to read the rest of the series to hopefully flesh out the characters a bit more. I did enjoy the story, but wasn't "in love" with any of the characters. Kate is a strong woman, as is Mina in both totally different ways. I'm holding judgement on both Tom and Conrad. Will see what transpires in book 2.
At the beginning of the book I thought I was caught in a tornado. The scenes quickly changed and it often took a minute before you realized where you were and what characters were involved. The book should have been shorter because some of the detail was totally unnecessary. But, a good book once you got into it. The ending tied up all of the loose ends and everything finally came together. Overall, not the best read but far from the worst.
