When Anson Jones discovers one of the men who embezzled money from his family's company hid the loot near Morgan's Crossing in Montana Territory, he leaves Oregon and travels there under the guise of setting up a horse ranch. Then all he has to do is wait for the culprit to slink into town, dig up the money, and have him arrested. There's only one problem. Anson just sent train fare to the Pettigrew Bridal Agency for his mail-order bride! He can't bring a woman into such danger and telegraphs the agency to stop everything. I enjoy this writer, but this wasn't one of my favorite of her books. I did like the main characters and the story line was sweet. The beginning was interesting because you wonder how Anson will react when his mail-order-bride arrives. I became bored with it in the middle of the book because there was really no difficulty or problem to overcome. Not much happens in the middle of the book. But then the last couple of chapters get very interesting again, and the ending is sweet. It's not a hard book to put down, but it is a nice story.Product details

I love Kit Morgan's books, I always fall in love with her characters. Her books are sweet and clean. I do have one question, what was the mystery with the miners wife?
A city girl turning into a ranchers wife takes hard work. The ladies in her new town begin teaching the new bride to c
ook and sew. A mystery unfolds involving her uncle and some stolen money. A quick read. I enjoyed it.
Great love story. Did they ever get the money was it written in the journals, was there a reward, did they stay in the cabin or move back to his home. Did the bed and stove get ordered and arrive.
I'd have given 5 stars if it didn't leave so many unanswered questions.
Kit Morgan brings a little of Clear Creek into Debra Holland's town of Morgan's Crossing. I read this book because I enjoy Kit Morgan's writing and looked forward to seeing a new generation of Clear Creek characters make their way in the world. Since reading this book and being introduced to a new town/new characters, I've found myself reading some of Debra Holland's books, too.
This is a really good mail order bride story. It has some humorous spots, some danger and it also shows that many, many miles can bring two strangers together and yet they are unknowingly tied together by certain circumstances. A very good read and I am hoping future stories will be as good.
I had it for a while now but I avoided to pick it up cuz I did not like the description that much. That was a BIG MISTAKE! This book was awesome, sweet, funny and cute! I loved it and now I am going to go and read the last book from this series that I still did not read. ^_^
Good story. A little contrived but the main characters were interesting. Zadie is innocent and knows nothing about keeping a house. How she thought she could be a mail order bride is a mystery. Anson is a nice young man and wants his new bride to succeed. When he finds out she is related to a crook, he has second thoughts. Wish there had been a chapter about finding the money and getting a reward. They had to get the money to build the house. Also would have loved to know what happened to Uncle Mort. Fun read.
